What is software patch and how to apply it?

Multi EMail Notifier is frequently updated to keep up with changes in technology. To update the software you would usually require to unnstall the old version and install the new version. This would be a little discomforting if done regularly. To avoid this we also release software pactches. These patches are small in size and does not require current software to be uninstalled. The procedure to apply the patch is similar to installation but much quicker and easier. Only thing to remember is that a patch can only be applied if the software is already installed.We will provide you step by step guide about how to download and apply the patch:

1. Check if the update is available
   By default Multi Email Notifier automatically checks for update when it is started. If this has been disabled in options window then you can manually check for update by clicking "Check Update" button on toolbar. If the update is available then you will be shown a new window which would have information about the update. Here you can see if the update is available in form of patch. Click the "Update" button to visit the patch download web page.
   
   
   
   
2. Download the software patch
   On the patch download web page, trial version users should click "Click here to download Multi EMail Notifier Patch" link to download the patch file, full version users need to enter the registred email and click "Download Patch" button. Remember the location where you are saving the patch file
   
   
3. Close Multi Email Notifier
   To close Multi Email Notifier, right click on its icon in system tray and click "Exit Multi Email Notifier" menu. If a confirmation dialog is shown then click "Yes" button.
   
   
   Sometimes Windows hide inactive icon so if you do not see Multi Email Notifier icon then click the "<" arrow to see all the icons.
   
   
4. Apply the patch file
   Browse to the location where you saved the patch file. The file name would be MultiEMailNotifierTrialPatch.exe or MultiEMailNotifierFullPatch.exe (depending if it is trial version or full version). Double click to run it. You will see the screen shown below. Click on the "Start" button. You will see a message that patch was applied successfully.
   
   
   
   
5. Run Multi Email Notifier by clicking the desktop icon
   Start Multi EMail Notifier by clicking the desktop icon or through Start menu. You can verify the update by clicking "About" button on toolbar. In the "About" window you can see the version installed.
