Quick Information
Multi EMail Notifier is a software which monitor any
number of your AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Live, Yahoo, Rocketmail, Y7mail, YMail, IMAP and POP3 accounts.
It will notify you when a new email arrives in any of these accounts.
Multi Email Notifier does not make any change to your emails or any
other data at mail server (www.gmail.com, www.hotmail.com etc.). For
your convenience Multi EMail Notifier keeps copy of latest 10 emails of
your account, henceforth referred as local copy. Making any changes to
local copies does not have any effect on your emails at mail server. When
you make any change, like read an email, delete an email etc., to latest
10 emails on mail server then these changes are automatically reflected on
the local copies, next time Multi EMail Notfier updates.
When you make any change, like read an email, delete an email etc., to
latest 10 emails on mail server then these changes are automatically
reflected on the local copies, next time Multi EMail Notfier updates.
For POP3 accounts it is a little different. There is no way to know
through the mail server whether an email is read or unread. When a POP3
account is updated for the first time then Multi EMail Notfier downloads
10 latest emails and assume them as unread even if they are read on mail
server. After this first update, you will be correctly notified about new
emails. Unlike other email accounts, for POP3, you have to manually mark
unread emails as read in the software.
Except for POP3 accounts you can directly access the inbox of your
email account through Multi EMail Notifier.
Few Tips:
1. If possible, on the mail server inbox, try to sort emails by date so
that latest emails are shown at top. This will help Multi EMail Notifier
to correctly retrieve new emails.
2. If you are getting login error for an account then please try to login
manually on the mail server. Sometimes there are custom messages from
email providers which prevents Multi EMail Notifer to access the inbox.
3. Try to remember to logout from the inbox of an email account when you
are done. This will avoid any conflict of logging in between two accounts
of same provider.
4. Try not to launch inbox of more than one account of same provider at
the same time, example: two hotmail accounts, for the same reason as
mentioned above.
5. While checking for new email there are two errors which occur
frequently due to nature of internet. First is errorOperationTimeout
and second is errorSecurityNotInitialized. You can ignore these
errors unless they occur repeatedly for sometime. Read about common
errors.
