Common Errors

Due to the nature of internet connection many time error occur while checking for emails. Unless these errors happen repeatedly there is nothing to worry about. When an error occur while checking email then "Error Log" button in the toolbar becomes enabled. Clicking that button shows the error log. Here are few errors which occur frequently:

  1. errorOperationTimeout: If the mail server or internet connection is busy then this error occurs. Usually this error goes after few tries.

  2. errorSecurityNotInitialized: All the communication between Multi EMail Notifier and mail server is done on secure channel. If due to some reason this secure channel cannot be negotiated between mail server and software then this error occurs. Usually this error goes after few tries.

  3. errorInvalidHostName: This error occurs when the internet connection is not there or in case of POP3 account the mail server does not exist. Please check if the internet is working properly and / or if the error is happening with a POP3 account then check the mail server setting including the port.

  4. errorSecurityContext: If the mail server does not support SSL and you have mentioned it in settings then this error will occur. This error if happens should occur with POP3 account. Please check the settings for the POP3 account. We would not recommend you to uncheck the SSL setting.

  5. Email Authentication Failed: This error happens if the login is not correct for the account. We would recommend you to manually login to the email account.

If an error keeps happening we suggest you to manually login to the email account. Sometimes the mail server does not work correctly, by logging in manually this possibility will be ruled out.
